SALISBURY, Md. – The 22nd-ranked Salisbury University women's swimming team honored its record-setting nine-member senior class with half a dozen pool records and a convincing 186-76 win over the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats on Saturday afternoon at Maggs Pool.
MEET NOTES
- Samantha Watson earned three medals on the day, including a pair of solo golds in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:15.23) and 200 breast (2:40.78).
- Libby Miyashita captured a gold medal in the 200 butterfly (2:21.36) as well as two silvers in the 100 fly (1:03.42) and 200 individual medley (2:25.95).
- Isabelle Salvatore snagged three medals on the day, including a solo gold in the 200 backstroke (2:22.99) and silver in the 50 freestyle (27.62).
- Mackenzie Gula won three medals, taking individual first place in the 200 IM (2:25.40) and third in the 200 free (2:09.54).
- Rowan O'Donoghue won all three of her races on the day, earning individual gold in the 100 free (57.38).
- Salisbury started the day with a 1-2 finish in the 200 medley relay. A-team Salvatore, Gula, Lily Griffin, and O'Donoghue cruised to victory in 1:58.06. The second-place B-team (2:03.97) consisted of seniors Morgan Adams, Watson, Sierra Wakefield, and Alexa Hilty.
- SU wrapped things up with a come-from-behind win in the 200 free relay. Kaitlyn McGuire, Hilty, Logan Bagley, and O'Donoghue touched first in 1:49.42, with anchor O'Donoghue chasing down the F&M anchor on the final length to win by 39 hundredths of a second.
- In all the Sea Gulls brought home 30 of a possible 42 medals, including 11 gold, 11 silver, and eight bronze.
MAGGS POOL RECORDS
The Sea Gulls continue the home stretch of the regular season with their penultimate dual meet next Saturday at Catholic. First events from Washington, D.C. are set for 1 p.m.
