No. 10 Field Hockey tops TCNJ on Senior Day

SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 10 Salisbury University field hockey team wrapped up its regular-season schedule in winning fashion on Saturday, defeating The College of New Jersey, 4-2, at Sea Gull Stadium. The Sea Gulls used a three-goal third quarter to pull away from the Lions and secure their fourth consecutive victory. Four senior members of the program were honored pregame, Ramsey Coffman, Regan Nacrelli, Alex Kupper, and Kaitlin Cashman.

TCNJ struck first late in the opening quarter with two minutes remaining to give the Lions a 1-0 advantage. Salisbury answered just one minute later. Following a penalty corner, Devon DeGregory found the back of the cage, with Tessa Gray providing the assist to even the score at 1-1.

The Sea Gulls controlled much of the second quarter, putting nine shots toward the TCNJ goal while holding the Lions to two attempts. Despite the offensive pressure, TCNJ kept Salisbury off the scoreboard, and the teams entered halftime tied at one.

Salisbury broke through early in the third quarter. Two minutes in, Alex Kupper finished a scoring opportunity off assists from Regan Worley and Layla Kent to give the Sea Gulls their first lead of the afternoon.

The offensive momentum continued. Ryan Lowe extended the advantage to 3-1 at 35:17, converting a penalty-corner opportunity with an assist from Kent. Less than four minutes later, DeGregory struck again, scoring her second goal of the game at 38:52 off another Kent assist to push the Salisbury lead to 4-1.

TCNJ added a late goal in the fourth quarter cutting the deficit to 4-2. The Sea Gull defense held firm over the final five minutes, allowing Salisbury to close out the victory.
