No. 39 Men’s Tennis grounds Goucher, delivers Linscott first win

SALISBURY, Md. – The 39th-ranked Salisbury University men's tennis team delivered new head coach Tyler Linscott a win in his official first match at the helm, topping the Goucher Gophers 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at the SU Indoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls grabbed the first point by winning two-of-three doubles matches. Gurv Suri and Aron Bursztyn prevailed with ease in first doubles, 6-2, while Nicholas O'Dea and Bobby Stabile breezed through second doubles, 6-0.
  • Suri made it a perfect day in his debut in first singles, sweeping the Gophers' Gabe Naftoly 6-0, 6-4.
  • Salisbury wrapped up the team victory via second and third singles. In second, O'Dea took down Tadeo Asprella 6-4, 6-4; in third, Maas Jacobs rallied to put away Bene Rummell, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
  • Bursztyn [6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 10-3], Stabile (6-1, 6-4), and Chase Catullo [7-6 (7-5), 6-2] each took care of business in fourth, fifth, and sixth singles, respectively.
 
The Sea Gulls are back in action next Sunday with a home tilt against Catholic beginning at 12 p.m.
