Men’s Basketball falls at No. 10 Christopher Newport

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Salisbury University men's basketball team dropped a 79-47 decision on Saturday night against the No. 10 Christopher Newport University Captains from inside the Freeman Center.
 
The Sea Gulls (10-14) got its first field goal of the night from Tyler Ball, who converted an and-one to knot the score up at four. The Captains (20-4) tallied 36 of the next 47 points to take a 40-15 lead into halftime.
 
Christopher Newport kept their foot on the gas in the second segment, outpacing SU 39-32. Jamison Graves knocked down a three and led the Gulls with nine points in the final frame.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Graves scored 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting.
  • Aidan Camper grabbed a career-high seven boards
  • Salisbury shot 25.0 percent (19-76) from the field, 15.0 percent (3-14) from beyond the arc and 60.0 percent (6-10) from the charity stripe.
The Sea Gulls close out the regular season on Sunday in Virginia Beach against the Regent University Royals at 2 p.m.
