INDIANAPOLIS – The Salisbury University swimming teams' growing reputation on the national stage took another big step forward on Friday morning with the announcement that 16 of its student-athletes across 12 events
have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, set to be held at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. on Mar. 18-21.
The 24th-ranked Sea Gull women's team saw 10 of its swimmers representing nine events punch their tickets to nationals. The 18th-ranked Sea Gull men, meanwhile, secured their first national qualification since 1998 and will be represented by six swimmers across three events.
WOMEN
- 100 freestyle – Rowan O'Donoghue
- 200 freestyle – O'Donoghue
- 500 freestyle – O'Donoghue, Addi Wood
- 1,650 freestyle – Wood
- 200 breaststroke – Maddie Powell
- 200 butterfly – Libby Miyashita
- 400 medley relay – Isabelle Salvatore, Mackenzie Gula, Lily Griffin, O'Donoghue
- 400 free relay – Rachel Rickabaugh, Griffin, Alexa Hilty, O'Donoghue
- 800 free relay – O'Donoghue, Gula, Hilty, Jenna Krawlzik
MEN
The qualification list further certifies the remarkable growth of Salisbury swimming, which had only sent
three swimmers over eight events to nationals in its entire program history before this season. The Sea Gulls will arrive in Indianapolis with a contingent of swimmers that will place them top-15 in terms of co-ed representation on deck.
Salisbury University is a proud member of NCAA Division III with primary membership in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference, along with affiliate membership in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (football, men's & women's swimming), Coastal Lacrosse Conference (men's lacrosse), State University of New York Athletic Conference (field hockey), and Colonial Women's Golf Conference (women's golf).
