Track & Field wraps up indoor regular season in style

The Salisbury University track & field program wrapped up its 2025-26 indoor regular season with student-athletes competing at the Frank Colden Invitational in Collegeville, Pa., and the Big Apple Invitational in Staten Island, N.Y. The Sea Gulls saw multiple program records fall and top finishes on the day.

Big Apple Invitational Meet Notes
  • Kai Smith posted two program records on the day. One in the 60-meter with a time of 6.74, and the second in the 200-meter with a time of 21.18. Both were good enough to earn gold and set meet records.
  • Marlyse Haack broke the triple jump school record at 11.46 meters (37-7.25), which placed her second. She also placed sixth in the long jump at 5.18 meters (17-0.00).
  • Anna Bodmer struck gold in the 3000-meter run for a program record and C2C record time of 10:04.97.
  • Haack, Karia Forvil, Jenna Howe, and Emma Smyser struck gold in the 4x400 relay with a program record 4:01.75. The men's 4x400 relay team of Andrew Osler, Samuel Bradley, Hayden Myers, and Isaiah Rivera also struck gold with a time of 3:22.08.
  • Cormac Moroney earned gold in the mile run with a time of 4:18.75.
  • Justin Freeman struck gold in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.06.
  • SU placed two runners in the top five of the 3000-meter run, with Austen Cave taking home gold with a time of 8:39.65. Tristan Dutton earned fourth with a time of 8:49.96.
  • Smyser and Howe also earned top-10 finishes in the 400-meter dash. Smyser tallied seventh with a time of 59.33, while Howe tallied 9th with a time of 59.82.
  • The men placed three in the top-10 of the 400-meter dash with Osler, Bradley, and Rivera. Osler placed third at 49.86, Bradley earned fourth at 49.88, and Rivera grabbed ninth with a time of 51.20.
  • Brooke Hamer placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.79.
  • Forvil placed fifth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.89.
  • Peri Nelson took home fifth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:24.75.
  • Kaitlyn Stevens tallied seventh in the high jump at 1.50 meters (4-11.00). Ryan Gorman placed sixth for the men at 1.80 meters (5-10.75).
  • Mia Hill tallied second place in the long jump at 5.52 meters (18-1.25).
  • Jon Alicea earned sixth in the long jump at 6.27 meters (20-6.75).
Frank Colden Invitational Meet Notes
  • Emma Christman placed second in the triple jump at 10.36 meters (34-00.00).
  • The Sea Gulls saw three personal records in the 3000-meter run, with three runners in the top four. Gabe Riling placed second with a time of 8:54.11, Landon Lewicki placed third with a time of 8:54.84, and Connor Kinch tallied fourth at 8:56.43.
  • Justin Friscia earned gold in the 800-meter with a time of 2:03.04.
  • Logan Kelsch earned third place in the weight throw at 15.55 meters (51-00.25).
  • Jadon Gaines tallied second in the high jump at 1.90 meters (6-02.75)
  • Peyton Dill earned third in the pole vault at 3.80 meters (12-05.50)
  • Logan Aldridge placed third in the shot put at 13.91 meters (45-07.75).
These were the final tune-ups before the teams head to Newport News, Va., for the Coast-to-Coast Indoor Conference Championships on Feb. 20th and 21st.
