INDIANAPOLIS – The 18th-ranked Salisbury University men's swimming team made further history in the 200-yard medley relay by producing the program's first-ever First-Team All-Americans on the third day of the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday at the IU Natatorium.
In the first event of the morning prelims,
Mason Potts,
Dominic Kazzi,
Michael Paulos, and
Michael DeSimone teamed up to produce a time of 1:28.10, touching the wall nine hundredths of a second ahead of the Swarthmore team to secure eighth place and qualify for the evening's A-final. With it, the quartet became the first swimmers in the history of the men's or women's program to earn First-Team All-America recognition; SU's previous honorees were either Second-Teamers or honorable mention.
In the evening session, Potts, Kazzi, Paulos, and DeSimone put it in the books officially by placing seventh in the finals, clocking in at 1:29.15.
Salisbury saw a pair of individuals narrowly miss All-America accolades in their respective races.
Cameron Byrd (1:48.43) slotted 20th in the 200 butterfly, while Kazzi (55.32) took 23rd in the 100 breaststroke.
After garnering 24 points in the 200 medley relay, SU sits tied for 22nd in the championship standings at 32 points with one day of competition to go.
