Women’s Golf grabs third at Ruckus in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University women's golf team improved by four strokes and clinched another podium finish by placing third at The Ruckus, hosted by Premier Collegiate Tournaments, whose second round was played on Sunday at the Williamsburg National Golf Club.
 
The Sea Gulls shot a 67-over 355 in the tournament's final round, shaving four strokes off its Saturday total for a two-day card of 138-over 714. SU held off a challenge from fourth-place Hartford (714) to earn the bronze behind victors Drew (657) and runners-up Bridgewater (Va.) [680].
 
ROUND NOTES
  • Krista Brosius carded her third top-five finish of the 2025-26 season, taking fourth place in the field of 31 with a 21-over 165 for the weekend. Brosius shot a 12-over 84 in Sunday's second round, including a birdie on the par-four fourth hole.
  • Sydney Lynott matched her Saturday round with a 17-over 89, good for a 34-over 178 and 10th place individually.
  • Emma Wivell carded a 20-over 92 and tied for 13th with a two-day 39-over 183.
  • Victoria Heid improved by eight strokes from round-to-round, shooting an 18-over 90 on Sunday. Heid placed 18th after recording a 44-over 188.
  • Kaeli Newcomb slotted in a tie for 26th after posting Sunday's SU drop score of 37-over 109 and an aggregate 70-over 214.
 
The Sea Gulls get back to work with another two-round weekend at the McDaniel Invitational, set for two rounds at The Bridges Golf Course in Abbotstown, Pa., on Saturday and Sunday.
