Women’s Golf sixth after McDaniel Inv’l opening round

Brosius tied for third halfway through two-day tournament

ABBOTSTOWN, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's golf team sat square in the middle of the field halfway through the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Saturday at The Bridges Golf Course.
 
The Sea Gulls carded an 84-over 372 on the day, good for sixth in the field of 11. SU leads seventh-place Dickinson (380) by eight strokes and trails fifth-place St. John Fisher (365) by seven.
 
ROUND NOTES
  • Krista Brosius boasted top-three credentials after the opening round after shooting a 10-over 82. She enters the clubhouse tied for the bronze position in the field of 58 individuals and is just three strokes back of the lead.
  • Victoria Heid carded an 18-over 90 on the day to tie for 12th on the leaderboard.
  • Sydney Lynott tied for 26th after Saturday's round with a 24-over 96.
  • Cailin McCoy registered a 32-over 104 for the day, tying for 40th.
  • Kaeli Newcomb posted a 36-over 108 for the SU drop score, good for 49th overall.
 
The Sea Gulls will look to make their move up the leaderboard in the second and final round of the McDaniel Invitational, with round two tentatively set to begin at 12 p.m.
