SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University track and field teams kicked off the 2026 outdoor season by hosting their annual Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet on Saturday afternoon at the SU Track & Field Complex, where the women's and men's programs soared in action.
Women's Meet Notes
- The Sea Gulls swept the podium in the 3000-meter steeplechase with Leah Snyder winning the event in 12:07.42. Mia Malizia followed in 2nd at 12:31.59, while Lindsay Fernandez placed 3rd with a time of 13:04.77.
- Salisbury dominated the 1500-meter run, taking three of the top four spots. Miranda Bournique led the way with a victory in 4:57.60, followed by Camryn Russum in 3rd at 5:03.54 and Marisa Servis in 4th with a time of 5:04.40.
- Madi Sisson captured the 5000-meter run title with a time of 18:53.40. Madison McCurry added a 4th-place finish in 20:15.95.
- Taylor King led the Sea Gulls in the hurdles, finishing 1st in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.09. Alyssa Wohlfarth placed 3rd in 1:22.23.
- Lilly Williams earned two top-five sprint finishes, placing 4th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.12 and 5th in the 200-meter dash in 27.27.
- Emma Smyser and Sofia DelRosso-Freeman finished first and second in the pole vault. Smyser cleared 3.05 meters (10-00.00) for the win while DelRosso-Freeman placed 2nd with a mark of 2.60 meters (8-06.25).
- Emma Christman claimed the long jump title with a leap of 5.30 meters (17-04.75). Kaitlyn Stevens finished 3rd at 4.88 meters (16-00.25) while Kennedy Atkins placed 4th with a jump of 4.78 meters (15-08.25).
- Hayden Adams placed 4th in the high jump clearing 1.45 meters (4-09.00) and later won the javelin throw with a mark of 30.85 meters (101-02).
- Kailey Jarboe led the throws with a 1st-place finish in the hammer throw at 38.10 meters (125-00) and added a 2nd-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 10.32 meters (33-10.25).
- Lexi Frick placed 3rd in the hammer throw with a mark of 32.73 meters (107-04) and 4th in the discus with a throw of 30.60 meters (100-05).
- Salisbury's 4x400 relay team of Miranda Bournique, Addison Curry, Ava Wagner, and Jenna Howe closed the meet with a 1st-place finish, crossing the line in 4:25.12.
Men's Meet Notes
- David Akinboye led Salisbury in the 200-meter dash, finishing 4th with a time of 23.11.
- Isaiah Rivera recorded a 2nd-place finish in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 50.08.
- The Sea Gulls claimed the top two spots in the 800-meter run as Justin Friscia won the event in 2:00.87, followed by Rajan Turner in 2nd at 2:03.51.
- Dalton Fink earned a 5th-place finish in the 1500-meter run, posting a time of 4:16.62.
- Salisbury placed three runners in the top four of the 5000-meter run. Landon Lewicki finished 2nd in 15:45.62, Bradley Helman took 3rd in 15:55.52, and Gabe Riling placed 4th with a time of 15:56.22.
- Devlin McCollum finished 2nd in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.04, while Jair Clinton placed 4th in 16.09.
- Clinton later won the 400-meter hurdles in 57.45, while Kyrian Collins finished 3rd in 59.98 and Gabriel Kvadus placed 4th in 1:00.07.
- Salisbury swept the top three spots in the 3000-meter steeplechase as Tristan Dutton won the event in 9:45.57, Connor Kinch placed 2nd in 9:50.89, and Seth Barron finished 3rd with a time of 10:08.69.
- The Sea Gulls finished 2nd in the 4x400-meter relay, crossing the line in 3:30.10 from the team of Rajan Turner, Justin Friscia, Nick Pusey, and Isaiah Rivera.
- Ryan Gorman placed 5th in the high jump, clearing 1.80 meters (5-10.75).
- Peyton Dill earned a 3rd-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.10 meters (13-05.25). Christian Arturi finished 4th at 3.80 meters (12-05.50), while Patrick Word placed 5th with a mark of 3.65 meters (11-11.75).
- Ilijah Wijnerman led Salisbury in the long jump, finishing 4th with a mark of 6.25 meters (20-06.25), while Keith Mazinga placed 5th with a leap of 6.20 meters (20-04.25).
- Salisbury swept the top five spots in the shot put, led by Logan Aldridge who won the event with a throw of 14.64 meters (48-00.50). Xavion Fidele placed 2nd at 13.62 meters, Joshua Rowe finished 3rd at 13.60 meters, Kelvin Ruano took 4th with 13.23 meters, and Jacob Reeves placed 5th with 12.61 meters.
- The Sea Gulls also swept the discus throw, led by Logan Kelsch who won the event with a mark of 49.42 meters (162-02). Reeves placed 2nd at 45.45 meters, Mason Breeze finished 3rd at 43.85 meters, JJ McCauley took 4th with 38.51 meters, and Aldridge placed 5th at 38.40 meters.
- Reeves captured the hammer throw title with a mark of 47.72 meters (156-07). Breeze finished 3rd at 42.91 meters, Kelsch placed 4th with 41.70 meters, and Aldridge took 5th at 40.37 meters.
- Reeves also won the javelin throw with a mark of 50.85 meters (166-10). Evan Eickhoff finished 3rd with a throw of 45.86 meters (150-05), Zach Unger placed 4th at 43.72 meters (143-05), and Gabriel Kvadus finished 5th with 40.70 meters (133-06).
Salisbury track and field heads to one of the nation's biggest early-season meets at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge, which runs from March 13-14 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
