FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Salisbury University track and field programs opened the 2026 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Outdoor Championships at the University of Mary Washington inside the Battleground Athletic Complex. The Sea Gulls soared on day one, posting multiple All-Conference honors and personal bests.
The Sea Gull men sit in 2nd place with 57 points after six of 20 events. Christopher Newport sits in 1st place with 77 points, both ahead of 3rd place UC Santa Cruz with 44 points.
The Sea Gull women sit in 3rd place with 34 points after six of 20 events. Christopher Newport sits in 1st place with 68 points, with UC Santa Cruz in 2nd place with 61 points.
Men Meet Notes
- Tristan Dutton struck gold in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a 1st place time of 9:20.47 for First Team All-C2C. Connor Kinch tallied silver for Second Team All-C2C with a time of 9:31.36 and 2nd place. Seth Barron also earned points for SU in 4th place, with a time of 9:49.62.
- Naasir Sellers and Jon Alicea tallied points in the long jump, placing 4th and 5th. Sellers earned 4th at 6.71 meters (22-00.25), while Alicea took 5th at 6.64 meters (21-09.50).
- The Sea Gulls tallied three in the top five of the hammer throw. Logan Kelsch earned 3rd at 49.26 meters (161-07). Mason Breeze earned 4th at 47.73 meters (156-07). Jacob Reeves tallied 5th at 46.40 meters (152-02).
- Peyton Dill and Patrick Word earned 5th and 6th in the pole vault to post points for SU. Dill tallied 5th at 3.86 meters (12-08.00). Word earned 6th at 3.76 meters (12-04.00).
- Salisbury also tallied three in the top five of the shot put. Kelvin Ruano tallied third place at 14.94 meters (49-00.25). Logan Aldridge earned 4th at 14.73 meters (48-04.00), and Joshua Rowe placed 5th at 13.90 meters (45-07.25).
- Landon Lewicki tallied points in the 10000-meter run with a personal best time of 32:17.97, which placed him 5th.
Women Meet Notes
- Anna Bodmer took home gold in the 10000-meter run with a 1st place time of 36:55.33, earning First Team All-C2C. Camryn Russum also earned a point in 6th place with a time of 39:44.45.
- Leah Snyder and Mia Malizia earned points in the 3000-meter steeplechase for the Sea Gulls, placing 5th and 6th. Snyder earned 5th with a time of 11:46.80, while Malizia tallied 6th at 12:07.49. Both were personal bests.
- Emma Smyser earned silver in the pole vault with a 2nd place finish at 2.98 meters (9-09.25), for Second Team All-C2C honors.
- Kailey Jarboe earned 5th in the shot put at 10.58 meters (34-08.50).
- Mia Hill and Marlyse Haack tallied points in the long jump with third and fourth-place finishes. Hill earned third place at 5.59 meters (18-04.25), and Haack tallied fourth at 5.50 meters (18-00.50).
The two-day event will continue tomorrow, starting at 11 a.m., with the Sea Gulls finalizing their run for a 22nd outdoor Conference Championship. The men's team owns 17 championships, most recently in 2023, while the women's team boasts four league crowns, with the most recent coming in 2013.
