No. 6 Men’s Lacrosse ties for lead, nabs 10 USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American selections

Malamphy, Strub and Stevenson named to first team

SPARKS, Md. –  The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team collected 10 USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America selections, tying Tufts for the most by a program, as announced by the outlet on Wednesday Afternoon.

Blake Malamphy, Bryce Stevenson and Riley Strub were put on the top team, while Connor Herraiz and Jeremiah Stafford garnered second-team honors. Evan Huffman was dubbed a third-teamer and Brady Mancha, Joe Buxbaum, Preston Huffman and Ryan Della reeled in honorable mentions.

Malamphy, a senior from Annapolis, Md., wrapped up an illustrious senior campaign and career, going 344-for-457 at the dot to boast a 75.3 percent face-off percentage. Malamphy leads all divisions in ground balls with 245, and netted a career-high 10 goals while adding two helpers. Malamphy finishes with 1086 career wins at the X, standing sixth in DIII men's lacrosse history.

Stevenson, a senior from Severna Park, Md., steadied the Gulls by leading the squad in caused turnovers (37). Stevenson chased down 53 ground balls and added four goals and two assists while playing close defense. The senior logged a three-ground ball and three CT outing in the NCAA Second Round against Roanoke in a 19-3 Sea Gull win on Saturday.

Strub, a senior from Darien, Conn., parried an 81-point 2025 season with 77 points in 2026, netting 48 goals and dishing out a career-best 29 helpers. Agent 0 made two appearances on the USILA DIII Team of the Week throughout the campaign and put together 4.25 points per game in the postseason while going for three goals in three minutes against No. 11 RIT in the NCAA Third Round on Sunday.

Herraiz, a senior from Succasunna, NJ, quarterbacked the SU offense during the season, going for 109 points on 35 tallies and 74 dimes in 21 games played. Herraiz averaged 3.52 per game to rank fourth in the country, put together eight games with seven or more points and finished his career with 386 points.

Stafford, a senior from Darien, Conn., completed his tenure in the Maroon and Gold by causing 26 errors and chasing down 37 grounders. The three-time All-American has been a defensive regular since joining the Sea Gulls in 2023 and finishes his career with 153 ground balls and 121 caused miscues.

Huffman, a senior from Hydes, Md., was a steady force at short-stick defensive midfield in the past four campaigns, compiling four goals, one assist, 79 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers in 86 games played. In 2026, the Calvert Hall product induced 10 turnovers and snared 22 ground balls as a key member of a Salisbury defense that allowed a 16th-best 8.05 goals per game.

Mancha, a senior from Parkside High School in Salisbury, played alongside Huffman at SSDM and picked up 21 ground balls and caused a turnover while burying two goals and handing out two helpers. Mancha ended his time as a Sea Gull with 59 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers, four goals and five assists while starting in 13 of 85 games played.

Buxbaum, a senior from Ocean City, Md., pieced together a solid season as a long stick midfielder, crafting up two goals, one assist, 21 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. The Stephen Decatur High School graduate logged his three points in back-to-back games in February, going for a goal and an assist against Grove City on the 6th, then followed it up with an apple against Scranton on the 14th.

Huffman, a sophomore from Hydes, Md., came up in the clutch at the end of the season, depositing the overtime winner against No. 4 CNU in the CLC Championship and tying the game with just over a minute to go on Sunday against No. 11 RIT in the NCAA Third Round. Huffman contributed on the first line midfield with 30 tallies and 24 helpers in his first season as a mainstay for the Gulls.

Della, a junior from Arnold, Md., fired in 35 goals and gave out four assists on the year, while rattling off three or more goals five times in 2026. The Broadneck product sits six scores shy of the century mark after posting 59 goals in his previous two seasons with SU.

The Sea Gulls completed the 2026 season, 17-4, notching their 28th overall conference title, and recorded a win in the NCAA Tournament for the 28th straight time.
