SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University volleyball program is proud to announce that senior standout
Gwen Eustace has been honored as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) 2025-26 Female Athlete of the Year. This prestigious accolade, awarded by the C2C, recognizes Eustace's standout contributions to volleyball during the 2025 season.
"I am incredibly honored and humbled to be named the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Female Athlete of the Year," Eustace stated. "This recognition reflects the support of so many people who have helped me throughout my journey, including my coaches, teammates, family, professors, and the entire Salisbury University community. Some of my most meaningful memories have come from the relationships I've built and the opportunity to represent Salisbury alongside such talented student-athletes. I am proud of what our team has accomplished together, and I am thankful for everyone who has contributed to my growth both on and off the court."
Eustace's exceptional performance on the court this season has distinguished her as one of the most formidable players in Division III volleyball. She achieved career-high statistics in several categories, including 436 kills, 3.35 kills per set, a .511 hitting percentage, 129 blocks (49 solo), 529 points, and 4.07 points per set. Notably, her hitting percentage of .511 led all three levels of NCAA volleyball, surpassing even top Division I players.
Eustace's prowess extends beyond her attacking skills, as evidenced by her elite national rankings in Division III for total blocks (9th), points (14th), and kills (30th). Her consistency and dominance were further highlighted by her 16 matches with double-digit kills and a hitting percentage above .500, including three standout performances where she surpassed the 20-kill mark.
Head coach
Kendall Jacobsen expressed immense pride in Eustace's achievements, stating, "I'm so proud of Gwen and everything she's accomplished this past season. She is a phenomenal athlete, and leading the nation across all three NCAA divisions in hitting percentage speaks for itself. She was a huge part of our team's success this year, and just as importantly, she was an outstanding leader for our program. I can't think of anyone more deserving of being named Coast-to-Coast Female Athlete of the Year, and I'm so happy to see her recognized by the conference with this award!"
Salisbury finished the 2025 season with a 29-7 record, good for the program's most wins since winning 29 in 2013. The Sea Gulls qualified for a fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament – a school first – and advanced to the second round for the third time in four years.
Eustace's accolades this season cap off a distinguished collegiate career. A three-time All-American, she joins an elite group of Sea Gulls, becoming only the third player in school history to be named to three All-America teams. She is also just the second player from SU to earn a spot on the AVCA's First Team.
Eustace was named a CSC Academic All-American in January as a fine arts major with a concentration on painting. Eustace boasts a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and has been one of Sea Gull volleyball's most recognizable volunteers in the community.
She is currently representing the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) overseas as part of the inaugural AVCA Ambassador Tour in Tanzania and Kenya from June 15-25 with the purpose of engaging with the volleyball communities of the two East African nations through youth clinics, coaching education sessions, community engagement initiatives, and leadership and cultural exchange opportunities. She is one of just three players from Division III selected for the tour, designed to "leverage the sport as a platform for service, community development, and competitive engagement."
Salisbury University is a proud member of NCAA Division III with primary membership in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference, along with affiliate membership in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (football, men's & women's swimming), Coastal Lacrosse Conference (men's lacrosse), State University of New York Athletic Conference (field hockey), and Colonial Women's Golf Conference (women's golf). With over 500 student-athletes in 23 varsity sports, SU is recognized as one of the nation's most competitive intercollegiate athletics programs regardless of division, featuring dedicated coaches and staff that foster excellence on and off the field. The Sea Gulls have won a combined 23 team national championships, 26 individual national championships, and 211 conference championships, and have produced 54 Academic All-Americans.
