Men’s Soccer blanks No. 9 Catholic in scoreless draw

SALISBURY, Md. – Neither side broke through when the Salisbury University men's soccer program welcomed in the ninth-ranked Catholic University of America Cardinals inside the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex on Wednesday evening.

The Cardinals (7-0-2) held a 3-2 lead in shot after a defensive battle in the first segment. Dale Gordon and Tanner Calzado missed wide in the early going for the Sea Gulls (7-1-2), while Clif Nehman came up with a leaping save in the 20th minute for SU.

The Maroon and Gold controlled the pace in the ladder half, leading 6-2 in the shot department. Liam Pierce and Martin Parrish put on Salisbury's two shots on target in the contest during the second stanza that were both turned away.

  • Martin Parrish led the squad by firing two shots.
  • Nicolas Chinchilla anchored the backline with 88 minutes played.
  • Clif Nehman picked up a second straight shutout, making two denials.
  • The Sea Gulls limited the Cardinals to their lowest shot total (5) since September 21, 2024.
The Sea Gulls head to Fredericksburg, Virginia, to face Mary Washington on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
