Heath BarringerĀ enters his second year as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Sports Information at Salisbury University in 2024-25. Barringer came to Salisbury after spending over two years as the Sports Information Director at Meredith College.
Barringer oversees all department media and communications functions and is the main contact for all 23 NCAA Division III varsity sports. His responsibilities include developing and implementing department-wide communications and marketing plans, recruiting and supervising all media and communications staff, and the statistical tracking and reporting of all intercollegiate athletic events.
While at Meredith, Barringer provided play-by-play and color commentary for various sports while creating all social media graphics and serving as the primary contact for all sports. He also oversaw the website redesign process while upgrading the department's broadcasting capabilities. He receivedĀ the Jackie Myers Inspiration Award, honoring the school's former Athletic Director who overcame cancer and now resides in the USA South Hall of Fame.
Before his time with the Avenging Angels, Barringer worked as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant at Averett University. He has also served as a Sports Communication Intern at Wingate University and worked as a Football Analyst on ESPN3, covering both home and road games for the Wingate football program.
Barringer earned a Bachelor's in Communication and Media Studies with a minor in Sports Broadcasting at Wingate in 2020 before completing his Master's of Business Administration with a specialization in Leadership at Averett in 2022.
His sister Nicole is the head volleyball coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University while his mother Annette resides in Salisbury, N.C.
