FREDERICK, Md. - The Salisbury University
women's tennis team lost only two singles sets as the Sea Gulls
blanked Hood College, 9-0, Tuesday afternoon in a Capital Athletic
Conference match.
The Sea Gulls (8-5, 4-0 CAC) won 72-of-74 singles sets as the
top two singles players, Anna Marie Kable and
Hannah Parsons, along with the No. 5 and No. 6
singles players, Jackie Burr and Robyn
Wendell, all swept their opponents in straight sets.
In doubles competition, Kable and Burr defeated Hood's (5-9, 0-3
CAC) top doubles pair of Larisa Buriak and Dani Hunt, 8-1, while
the team of Kelly Fahrner and Rachel
Iosue and the duo of Kristen King and
Lauren Bakker won their matches 8-2 and 8-1,
respectively.
Salisbury has now won four of its last five matches.
The Sea Gulls return to action at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 7 as
they host No. 10 University of Mary Washington at the SU Tennis
Complex.
