SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University men's
tennis team defeated Dickinson College 9-0 on Saturday at the SU
Indoor Tennis Center. The Sea Gulls, ranked 10th in the Atlantic
South region, completed their four match homestand with a perfect
4-0 record. The Gulls are now 4-0 this season as the Red Devils,
ranked 17th in the region, made their season debut today.
Salisbury senior Brendan Kincaid and sophomore
Scott Burtzlaff teamed up in No. 1 doubles to
defeat Dickinson's Ross Anstaett and Bo Marshall 8-3. Junior
Matt Nicholson and sophomore Evan
Thomas played well at No. 2 doubles against Pavel Hejsek
and Hunter Holbrook en route to an 8-2 win. Sophomore
Marcus Robinson and freshman Andrew
Nottage finished the sweep at doubles as the duo won 8-3
at No. 3 doubles over Trevor Heck and Matt Wood.
In singles play, Nicholson made his second appearance this
season at No. 1 singles and defeated Anstaett 6-1, 6-2. Kincaid
easily won his No. 2 singles match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over
Marshall. Burtzlaff and Thomas defeated Dickinson's Holbrook and
Heck, respectively, 6-0, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-2. Freshman David
Lupinetti fared well against Dickinson's Hejsek at No. 5
singles with a 6-1, 6-3 victory. Junior Sasha
Felkinson completed the sweep as he won a tiebreaker over
Rich Rosenthal 6-2, 3-6, 10-3.
Salisbury will travel to Chowan University for its first away
match of the season Sunday, March 9, at 2 p.m.
