FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team made the most of fall tournament play by competing at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Southeast Regional Championships, which were held on Thursday through Sunday at the University of Mary Washington.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Asher Willenborg advanced to the quarterfinals of the Championship singles draw, dispatching foes from Franklin & Marshall (6-1, 6-0), Mary Washington (6-1, 6-1), and Christopher Newport (6-2, 6-0) before getting knocked out by Johns Hopkins' Allen Gong [0-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-8)].
- Willenborg and Gurv Suri played their way into the quarterfinals of the Championship doubles bracket, besting duos from CNU (8-6) and Hopkins (8-6) before seeing their run end against a UMW twosome (8-5).
- Nicholas O'Dea won his first match in the Championship singles bracket, besting Haverford's Owen Kilmer [6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 10-8].
- Aron Bursztyn advanced to the second round of B3 singles after taking down Stevens' Tristan Wroe (6-3, 4-6, 10-4).
- O'Dea and Bursztyn were knocked out in the opening round of Championship doubles but secured a win in the consolation bracket by ousting a pair from Goucher (8-3).
The Sea Gulls will reveal their schedule for the spring 2026 season at a later date.
