FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Salisbury University
women's tennis team fell to Capital Athletic Conference foe and No.
7 ranked University of Mary Washington 9-0 Sunday at the UMW Indoor
Tennis Center.
Salisbury junior Anna Marie Kable and sophomore
Jackie Burr took Natalia Fugate and Becky
Morse-Karzen to the limit in No. 1 doubles but lost 9-7.
Sophomore team Kelly Fahrner and Rachel
Iosue battled close at No. 3 doubles but ultimately fell
8-5.
In the Gulls' first CAC loss of 2008, SU (12-4, 5-1
CAC) failed to win a set against UMW (15-3, 4-0 CAC), the
Atlantic South region No. 3 team, but was not shutout in any match.
Iosue and Burr lost by the same 6-2, 6-3 margin at No. 3 and No. 5
singles, respectively.

Sunday, April 13, when they host Muhlenberg College at 1 p.m.
