It took some time for both teams to find their rhythm as both teams were adjusting to the strong winds that played over the SU Soccer Complex pitch. In the 38th minute, sophomore midfielder Morgan Hunt (Millsboro, Del.)regained a deflected ball at the top left corner of the box, and shot the ball across the face of the goal into the top right corner to give the Sea Gulls a 1-0 lead. The goal was Hunt's third of the season. In the first half the Sea Gulls outshot the Mustangs (5-8-0, 1-3-0 CAC) 7-2 and held a 3-0 corner kick advantage.

The Sea Gulls got things going quickly in the second half as senior forward Nick Malone (Salisbury, Md.)collected the ball at the top left corner of the 18-yard box, and played to senior midfielder Benjamin Reed (Arnold, Md.) who made a quick move around a defender and blasted the ball into the top right corner of the goal for a 2-0 lead. SU scored 48 seconds later after junior defender Justin Lambert's (Silver Spring, Md.)shot careened off the post where an open Kyle Sterling (Salisbury, Md.)  pushed the ball over the line to increase the lead to 3-0. The Gulls wrapped up their scoring in the 65th minute when Malone received a ball from Sterling and slotted it past the oncoming goalkeeper.

For the match, the Sea Gulls outshot the Mustangs 16-3 and held a 9-1 corner kick advantage. Senior goalkeeper Josh Scotton (Delmar, Md.) picked up his first win of the season as he played all 90 minutes and was not forced to make a save. Mustang starting goalkeeper Greg Coard played 64 minutes and allowed three goals while making three saves. Cory Spindler and John Leimbach split the final 26 minutes with no saves.

The Sea Gulls will hit the road this weekend as they travel to St. Mary's City, Md. for a CAC contest against St. Mary's (Md.) College.
