Box Score SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury
University men's basketball team played in its fifth consecutive
Capital Athletic Conference match-up on Monday night, hosting the
University of Mary Washington Eagles at Maggs Physical Activities
Center. The maroon and gold took control of the game in the second
half, coming away with a solid 80-71 victory.
It was raining three-pointers in the first half of the game as
four different Sea Gulls capitalized from behind the arc. One of
those Sea Gulls, freshman guard Dylan
Robeson (Fairfax, Va.), scored his first points in
maroon and gold with 8:25 left in the first half to give Salisbury
(7-8, 3-4 CAC) a one-point advantage over Mary Washington
(6-9, 3-4 CAC). Salisbury would retain that one-point lead and the
Sea Gulls ended the first half up by one, 34-33.
That one-point lead would grow significantly in the second half,
as Salisbury began to dominate the contest and pull away from Mary
Washington. Senior guard/forward Greg Palmer
(Salisbury, Md.), who recently notched his
1,000th career point, racked up an additional 29
points, his season-high, in the victory. Fellow senior guard
Devin Jones (Severn, Md.), who netted 23
points, bested his previous career-high in assists by one as he
dished out eight in the win against the Eagles.
Salisbury will look to continue its winning ways, on the road,
as the maroon and gold square off against CAC opponent Stevenson
University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Sea Gulls' next home game
will be on Saturday, Jan. 23, against CAC foe St. Mary's (Md.)
College. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
