Box Score SALISBURY, Md.
– The No. 1 Salisbury University men's lacrosse team
continued its roll through the Capital Athletic Conference with a
29-2 win against Hood College on Saturday afternoon at Sea Gull
Stadium.
The Sea Gulls (14-0, 5-0 CAC)
began the game with a goal by senior midfielder Mike Von
Kamecke (Winter Park, Fla.) off an assist from
sophomore attackman Matt
Cannone (Bayport, N.Y.).
Sophomore midfielder Sam Bradman
(Canton, N.Y.) tallied an unassisted goal three
minutes into the game to put Salisbury up 2-0. The Blazers
(6-8, 0-5 CAC) got on the board in the game's fifth minute
before the Sea Gulls went on a 10-1 run over the final 10
minutes of the quarter to put the game out of reach.
The SU offense was firing on all
cylinders on Saturday, as 17 different players tallied a goal in
the contest. The Sea Gulls were led by senior attackman Mike
Winter (Port Washington, N.Y.) who finished with a
team-high six points on five goals and one helper. Cannone wasn't
far behind, tallying five points on the day off of three
goals and two assists. Salisbury senior attackman Jake
DeLillo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) (one goal, three
assists), Bradman (two goals, two assists) and freshman attackman
Brandon Groux (Newark, Del.) (two
goals, two assists) each finished with four points. SU head coach
Jim Berkman saw 38 of his players take the
field during the victory.
SU sophomore midfielder Kyle
Gallagher (Salisbury, Md.) had a career day, as he
scored his first collegiate goal and won 15-of-20 face-offs
with a career-high nine groundballs.
Salisbury will host York (Pa.)
College on Tuesday, April 13 in its final regular-season CAC home
game at 7 p.m. The Sea Gulls will close out CAC play at Marymount
(Va.) University on Thursday, April 15 before beginning play
in the CAC tournament the following week.
