Sea Gulls record 14-2 victory over host Green Terror on Wednesday

WESTMINSTER, Md. – The No. 3-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team notched a 14-2 non-conference victory over host McDaniel College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls (4-0) got on the board quickly as junior midfielder Sam Bradman tallied an unassisted goal just 49 seconds in. Junior attackman Tony Mendes struck three minutes later with an unassisted goal of his own. Salisbury closed out the quarter with a goal by junior midfielder Jeff McGuire off an assist from junior attackman Matt Cannone with 6:52 remaining.

The second quarter was the highest scoring quarter for the maroon and gold, with five goals being scored in the frame. Bradman and Mendes each tallied their second goals of the contest in the frame.

Junior attackman Erik Krum was a force in the third quarter, as he tallied a trio of goals, with two coming off assists from Cannone. The Green Terror (0-2) recorded its first goal of the game with 3:13 remaining the period, when Ben Yancheski fired home the ball off an assist from JS Duke.

The final quarter featured just three goals, with SU scoring twice and McDaniel finishing with one goal. Junior attackman Evan Hammersly recorded his first goal in a maroon and gold uniform off an assist from junior midfielder Kyle Gallagher.

Cannone led the way with a team-high five points, as he scored one goal and handed out four assists. Krum finished with a team-high four goals, while senior midfielder Shawn Zordani finished not far behind with three.

SU senior goalkeeper Johnny Rodriguez recorded two saves in 36 minutes of action to earn his fourth victory of the season.

McDaniel's Brad Motley turned in an impressive performance in 45 minutes of action as he finished with 12 saves.

The Sea Gulls are set to host No. 12 Gettysburg College this Saturday at Sea Gull Stadium at 1 p.m. The game can be seen live on WMAR-TV/ABC2 out of Baltimore and on the web through ESPN3.com.
