CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Denison University in the team's final match on its spring break trip to California on Thursday morning.

The Big Red took all three doubles matches to begin play, but just barely, as Salisbury was within two games in two matches. Senior Katie Youlios and junior Natalie Savage suffered a 9-7 loss at No. 1, while sophomore Claudia Lohn and freshman Charlotte Walker fell 8-6 at No. 2.

The pair of senior Allison Lutz and freshman Megan Soderlund took an 8-1 loss at No. 3.

In singles play, Soderlund was in both sets at No. 4, dropping the first, 7-6 in a tie-breaker, and the second, 6-4. Lutz took five games at No. 4, falling 6-3, 6-2, and Savage was good for four games at No. 1, as was Walker at No. 6, with each taking a 6-3, 6-1 loss.

Youlios at No. 2, and Lohn at No. 3, each fell 6-2, 6-0 to close out the scoring.

The Sea Gulls head home and will be off for a week before kicking off Capital Athletic Conference play, taking on Southern Virginia University on Friday, March 27 in a neutral-site affair being played at the University of Mary Washington.
