SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team took its sixth win of the season topping Franklin & Marshall College, 6-3, at the SU Outdoor Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls took their first two points of the day in doubles, at No.1 with senior Natalie Savage and junior Zoe Moffat claiming an 8-3 victory. At No. 2 doubles, junior Claudia Lohn and sophomore Megan Soderlund grabbed another 8-3 win. The Diplomats picked up their first point of the day at No. 3 with Salisbury senior Megan Knapp and freshman Taylor Cooper falling 8-4. 

In singles play, Salisbury took away four singles wins, led by Savage at No. 1 where she pulled away with a tough opening set, 7-5. After being down 4-1 she fought back and claimed the first set, ultimately winning the match, 7-5, 6-2.

Moffat, at No. 2, only dropped two games in her singles match, winning 6-2, 6-0. At No. 5, Taylor Cooper, after being on serve in her first few games of both sets, pulled away a for a 6-3, 6-2 win.

Lohn at No. 3 had a long, three-set match. She claimed the first set 6-0, but saw Sarah Haas draw even by taking the second set in a tiebreaker. Lohn finished her match winning the third set 6-2.

The two singles defeats of the day were at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots with Soderlund and Knapp both going three sets. Soderlund fell 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 and Knapp won the first set, but dropped a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 match.

The Sea Gulls will return to action on Friday, March 11 hosting Stevenson University, with the match starting at 3 p.m.
