Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Salisbury University men's basketball team dropped its midweek matchup, 80-57, to the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game started off with both teams trading baskets for the first five minutes. After Sean Carr made a layup to give the Sea Gulls a 10-8 lead, the Marlins responded with four three-pointers in row, two by Miles Wallace and two by Jordan Crump, to put Virginia Wesleyan up 20-10 with 12:41 left to go in the first half.
- The Marlins extended their lead to 19 points at 40-21 with 2:50 left in the first half. Cameron Heard made a jumper with just under 2:30 to go in the frame to cut into the Marlins lead. The teams went into the locker room at halftime with that score.
- Salisbury played much better in the second half, scoring 34 points, but the Marlins offense kept the Sea Gulls from striking distance by shooting 48.1 percent (13-for-27) from the field and 53.8 percent (7-for13) from deep in the second half to give Virginia Wesleyan the win.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES
- Greg Bloodsworth led the Sea Gull offense with 14 points on the night.
- Jordan Oates scored 11 points and grabbed eight boards.
- Brandon Craig added nine points off the Salisbury bench. He also grabbed six rebounds.
- Salisbury shot 50 percent from three-point range, shooting 6-for-12.
VIRGINIA WESLEYAN GAME NOTES
- Jordan Crump and Corey Pelham led the Marlins offense, scoring 21 and 20 points respectively.
- All 21 of Crump's points came via three-pointers, going 7-for-10 from deep.
- Virginia Wesleyan shot a blistering 51.4 percent from three-point range, going 18-for-35 from beyond the arc.

- Salisbury will host the University of Lynchburg Hornets on Saturday, Dec. 11.
- Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Maggs PAC in Salisbury, Md.
