Women's Tennis shuts out St. Mary's to open C2C play

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team rebounded after its first loss of the year last week to blank the St. Mary's Seahawks, 9-0, to begin the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) schedule.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Salisbury opened the day with a clean sweep of the doubles matches. The tandems of Melanie Williams and Sarah Dover along with Elizabeth Christine and Sarah Cooper earned 8-0 wins in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
  • SU won each of the singles matches in straight sets.
  • Veronica Cuellar rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Hallie Hershey in No. 1 singles.
  • Katherine Tamesis earned a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Hannah Gorel in No. 2 singles.
  • Christine blanked Brooke Oliver in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

UP NEXT

  • Salisbury continues C2C play on Saturday, April 10 with a home match with the Christopher Newport Captains.
  • The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m
