Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Reardon scores hat trick, No. 6 Field Hockey silences No. 18 Rowan, 5-0

SALISBURY, Md. – The sixth-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team wrapped up the regular season with another clean sheet, blanking the 18th-ranked Rowan Profs, 5-0, on Wednesday evening at Sea Gull Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After putting five shots on goal in the first eight minutes, the Sea Gulls broke through in the ninth minute as McKenna Horner served a perfect pass in to Arden Hunteman, who beat the Prof goalie to the right corner to give SU a 1-0 lead.
  • Just one minute later, Molly Reardon got the ball in open space and carved up the Rowan defense on the way to scoring her first goal of the season, doubling the Sea Gull lead to 2-0 late in the first quarter.
  • Salisbury got two more goals in quick succession in the second quarter. Off a penalty corner in the 23rd minute, Mack Dinopoulos flicked it toward the cage and McKenna Horner deflected it in to make it 3-0.
  • Two minutes later, Horner set up to the left and hit Reardon across the net for her second goal to boost the advantage to 4-0.
  • In the third quarter, the Sea Gulls pressed forward in the 37th minute, and Reardon took a rebound and deposited it into the cage for her third goal, making it 5-0 Salisbury.
