Track & Field impresses on final day of Towson Invite

TOWSON, Md. – The Salisbury University track & field teams performed well in a field of all three divisions to close out the two-day Towson Invitational on Saturday.

Men

Cameron Hasko (54.84m, 179-11) and Keifer Thomas (47.74m, 156-07) placed second and fourth in the javelin respectively.
Logan Kelsch (45.52m, 149-04) and Mason Breeze (42.54m, 139-06) landed in the top 10 in the discus with an eighth and 10th=place effort.
Zion Wamley placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.97 meters (42-6.75).
Andrew McGinley cleared 1.88 meters (6-02) while Dylan Haun cleared 1.78 meters (5-10) in the high jump to finish third and fifth.
The crew of Jacob Shelton, Sherrod Frye, Ryan Kramer and Kai Smith crossed the line in fifth place in the 4x100-meter relay (42.64).
Shelton crossed the line in sixth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.96 seconds.
Ryan Temple, Hayden Myers, Tyson Bowie and Mike Heinz finished in fourth place in the 4x400-meter relay (3:26.00).

Women

Marlyse Haack registered a 12th-place mark in the triple jump (10.31m, 33-10).
Haack, Karia Forvil, Destinee Ekanem and Mia Hill placed ninth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 52.18 seconds. The quad also placed sixth in the 4x400-meter relay (4:11.81).
The Sea Gulls had a pair in the top-25 in the 1,500-meter run. Alyssa Santoro (5:11.12) and Madi Sisson (5:13.49) placed 17th and 21st respectively.
Ekanem tallied a 27th-place effort in the 400-meter dash (1:06.68).
Grace Dear placed 14th in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.12 seconds.
Abigale Simmons notched a 20th-place time in the 800-meter run when she crossed the line in 2:29.24.

UP NEXT

Salisbury will be back on the track for the Norfolk State Invitational on Saturday, April 15.
The meet is scheduled for a 9 a.m. start in Virginia.
