Track & Field qualifies for two finals at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – The Salisbury University track and field teams saw two quartets punch their tickets for event finals at the 127th annual Penn Relays on Friday at Franklin Field.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Men
  • The 4x100-meter relay team of Jacob Shelton, Sherrod Frye, Ryan Kramer and Kai Smith qualified for Saturday's Eastern finals by finishing first out of 26 teams. The quartet broke the tape in the fourth heat in a time of 42.38 seconds.
  • Smith, Hayden Myers, Ryan Temple and Mike Heinz teamed up to qualify for the Eastern finals in the 4x400-meter relay, crossing seventh overall in a season-best 3:23.18 to join the top nine out of 22 teams.
  • Cameron Hasko placed 16th in the javelin throw at 49.75 meters (163-2).
Women UP NEXT
  • The Sea Gulls' qualifying relay teams will compete in the finals of the Penn Relays on Saturday afternoon.
  • Finals for the Eastern 4x100-meter relay are scheduled for 4:20 p.m., followed by the Eastern 4x400-meter relay finals at 5:40 p.m.
