PHILADELPHIA – The Salisbury University men's track and field team will return from the City of Brotherly Love with gold in hand as the 4x100-meter relay squad won the Eastern Collegiate race on the final day of the 127th annual Penn Relays on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• After posting the event's fastest qualifying time on Friday, Jacob Shelton, Sherrod Frye, Ryan Kramer and Kai Smith clocked in at a season-best mark of 41.71 seconds, edging out second-place New Haven by two-hundredths of a second to break the tape.
• The Sea Gulls' 4x400-meter relay team of Smith, Hayden Myers, Ryan Temple and Mike Heinz also impressed in its Eastern Collegiate race, finishing sixth in a time of 3:17.12 that bested the quartet's old season-best mark by over six seconds.

• The Sea Gull men's and women's teams now turn their attention to the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Outdoor Championships.
• The two-day championship meet will be hosted by the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va., on Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7.
