Game Recap: Field Hockey |

No. 4 Field Hockey runs through DePauw, 8-0

SALISBURY, Md. – There was plenty of firepower on display in the fourth-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team's season-opening 8-0 shutout over DePauw on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Mack Dinopoulos had a hand in both goals to start the contest for the Sea Gulls. In a cluster in front of the cage, Madelyn Reed pushed the ball over to Dinopoulos who got the ball past the keeper for the opening goal of the contest. Less than a minute later, Dinopoulos inserted a penalty corner to Marli McDorman, who sent a screamer through the defense and into the back of the cage.
  • After a DePauw turnover in the Salisbury attacking zone in the fifth minute of the game, Molly Reardon crossed the ball to an open Kaitlyn DeModna far post with a one-timer past the keeper.
  • Emma Radebaugh netted her first two SU goals in the second quarter to give the Sea Gulls a 5-0 lead at the half.
  • A redirection by Dinopoulos opened the second-half scoring for SU after McDorman corralled the penalty corner and DeModna put the ball goalwards.
  • Radebaugh registered her hat trick and pushed the lead to seven in the 37th minute on an assist by DeModna.
  • A McKenna Horner run down the wing led to an Arden Hunteman one-timer to cap off the scoring for the Sea Gulls in the 39th minute.
