GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Salisbury University men's swimming team sweated out a tight victory at New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival Rowan, besting the Profs 141-121 on Saturday afternoon at the Tony Lisa Natatorium.
MEET NOTES
- Christopher Knorr won a pair of individual gold medals in butterfly events, touching up first in the 100-yard fly (51.77) and the 200-yard fly (1:55.04).
- Brody Hanlon won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:11.12 while taking silver medals in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.25) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:59.03).
- Mason Potts medaled four times, capturing two golds in relay events while winning an individual race in the 100-yard freestyle (46.45). Potts also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in a Sea Gull program-record 50.61 seconds.
- Brady Wolf won the 100-yard breaststroke (58.72) and finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:11.78) as part of a three-medal afternoon.
- Matt Merke took a silver in the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.10), as well as bronze in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:02.95) and 200-yard individual medley (2:00.14).
- Salisbury won both relays on the day. The 200-yard medley relay saw Potts, Gabriele Miksa, Owen Brewer, and Michael DeSimone touch up in 1:33.42, besting the top Profs quartet by just a third of a second.
- In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Brewer, DeSimone, Kyle Skelly, and Potts took the title in 3:08.94. Potts boasted the best split of the four (45.89).
- The Sea Gulls left Glassboro with 21 medals overall, including seven golds, eight silvers, and six bronzes.
The Sea Gulls will host their first home meet of the season next Saturday against in-state rival Washington College. The first event at Maggs Pool is set for 1 p.m.
