COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Salisbury University women's swimming team saw both of its relay teams break program records on the first day of the inaugural New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday afternoon at Nation's Capital Swim Club.
The Sea Gulls closed out the opening session in sixth place with 106 points, just behind fifth-place Kean (108). TCNJ (177) finished the day with the lead largely based on diving point totals, followed by Montclair State (145) in second and Merchant Marine (126) in third.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Sea Gulls earned a podium finish in their first race of the day as the 200-yard medley relay team of Emma Schlutt, Samantha Watson, Sadie Hebert, and Lily Griffin earned a third-place finish in a time of 1:46.31. Griffin's 23.83-second split was best of the quartet.
- Later in the afternoon SU just missed out on the podium again in the 800-yard freestyle relay, grabbing fourth place in 7:51.89 on the back of Olivia Polucha, Maddie Powell, Alexa Hilty, and Griffin. Hilty boasted the best split of the bunch at 1:57.35.

- The Sea Gulls return to the pool for the second day of the NJAC Championships on Friday with first events from College Park beginning at 9:30 a.m.
