No. 1 Men’s Lacrosse lands nine USA Lacrosse Magazine All-Americans

SALISBURY, Md. – The top-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team saw nine Sea Gulls garner USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III All-American honors, as announced by the outlet on Friday morning.

Jude Brown, Jack Dowd, and John DeFazio were picked for the First Team while Brice Bromwell, Braden Glushakow, and Reagan McNemar landed on the Second Team. Blake Malamphy, Jeremiah Stafford, and Nicholas Ransom were tabbed Honorable Mentions.

Brown, a graduate student from Towson, Md., has compiled the most impressive campaign of his career in 2024, compiling 106 points on 34 goals and 72 assists across 19 games. Brown's assist total has earned him a share of 19th all-time in single-season assists, while the veteran attacker ranks second in the nation in assists per game (3.79) and 14th in points per contest (5.58).

Dowd, a graduate student from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., leads a man-up unit that ranks fourth nationally (.547) with eight man-up scores in 2024, the 44th-most in Division III. He ranks third on the Sea Gulls in points (67), logging 40 goals and 27 assists thus far.

DeFazio, a senior from Mountain Lakes, N.J., makes a return trip to the First Team after leading a unit allowing just 7.32 goals per game, the fifth-lowest clip in Division III. He ranks 29th nationally causing 2.53 turnovers per game and averages 4.37 ground balls per game.

Bromwell, a junior from Woolford, Md., nabbed a Second Team selection as one of the top options in SU's first midfield line. He enters the NCAA Tournament ranking second on the team in goals (46) while adding 29 assists, taking second on the team with 75 points.

Glushakow, a graduate student from Hebron, Md., serves as Salisbury's top short-stick defensive midfielder and has logged 25 ground balls and six caused turnovers while scoring a pair of goals this season.

McNemar, a graduate student from Millersville, Md., transferred to SU from Division I Towson and made an immediate impact. The Tiger-turned-Sea Gull has logged 42 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers in 2024 while aiding a Sea Gull defense that sits seventh nationally in ground balls per game (43.58) and 23rd in caused turnovers per game (10.53).

Malamphy, a sophomore from Annapolis, Md., blossomed into one of the best faceoff men in Division III, ranking 17th nationally in winning 66.1 percent of his tries at the dot while slotting 22nd in D-III scooping 9.47 ground balls per contest.

Stafford, a sophomore from Darien, Conn., took the reins as Salisbury's starting long-stick midfielder and thrived, finishing second on the squad with 30 caused turnovers while scooping 31 ground balls. He also logged his first career score in the regular season finale against Cabrini before adding his second collegiate goal in the Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC) Semifinal against Kean.

Ransom, a senior from Prince Frederick, Md., has continued a stellar Sea Gull career between the pipes in 2024. He boasts the lowest GAA in the NCAA across all divisions at 6.55 while sitting 31st nationally in save percentage (.574). He surpassed 300 career saves this season while improving to 39-0 in his career.

Brown, Dowd, DeFazio, and Glushakow all held to their selections on the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American list, released back on Feb. 7. Bromwell rose from the Third Team to the Second, while McNemar moved from an Honorable Mention choice to the Second Team.

Dowd and DeFazio each make return trips to the postseason First-Team All-American honor from the magazine. Brown elevated his status from the Second Team in 2023 to the First Team this season.

The Sea Gulls begin their quest for a record-setting 14th NCAA Division III National Championship on Saturday, opening their tournament run against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) Blue Jays at 3:30 p.m. inside Sea Gull Stadium. Tickets are now available online.
