Kell, Petrucelli snag D3baseball.com All-America honors

SALISBURY, Md. – After proving to be the toughest outs in a lineup filled with tough outs, outfielders Andrew Kell and Tim Petrucelli of the ninth-ranked Salisbury University baseball team have been recognized as D3baseball.com All-Americans, as revealed by the organization on Wednesday morning. Kell was picked for the All-America Second Team, while Petrucelli landed on the All-America Third Team.

Kell, a junior from Columbia, Md., adds his first career All-America nod to a collection of accolades from his breakout season. In 41 games (36 starts) he slashed .444/.545/.718 with 47 runs, 17 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 48 RBIs, 13 stolen bases, and a 1.263 OPS. Kell entered postseason play batting over .500 and was the nation's leading hitter for the bulk of the season. On Tuesday he was recognized as D3baseball.com Region 5 Player of the Year and a consensus First-Team All-Region selection.

Petrucelli, a graduate student from Delran, N.J., is also an All-American for the first time in his career after shoring up the middle of the Sea Gull lineup all season. He slashed .373/.500/.729 with 51 runs, 18 doubles, one triple, 13 homers, 51 RBIs, and a 1.229 OPS over 44 starts in right field. Petrucelli – who finished one dinger shy of matching the SU single-season record – joined teammate Kell as a consensus First-Team All-Region honoree on Tuesday.

Kell and Petrucelli become the 18th and 19th D3baseball.com All-Americans in Sea Gull history. Salisbury has landed at least one player on a D3baseball.com All-America squad for four straight years and on nine of the last 11 sets of teams dating back to 2013.

Salisbury's dynamic outfield duo helped the Sea Gulls go 32-12 during the 2024 season and win a fourth consecutive NCAA regional title.
