Kell, Petrucelli proclaimed ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans

EASTLAKE, Ohio – Securing honors from both major voting blocks, outfielders Andrew Kell and Tim Petrucelli of the ninth-ranked Salisbury University baseball team were each named American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Americans, as revealed on Thursday night at the site of the NCAA Baseball Championship. Kell earned a place on the All-America Second Team, while Petrucelli made the All-America Fourth Team.

Kell, a junior from Columbia, Md., becomes a consensus Second-Team All-American after picking up the same honor from D3baseball.com on Wednesday. He broke into the Sea Gull starting lineup midseason and slashed .444/.545/.718 with 47 runs, 17 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 48 RBIs, 13 stolen bases, and a 1.263 OPS over 41 games (36 starts). Kell finished the season ranking top-10 in single-season SU history in all three slash line statistics and doubles.

Kell adds one more All-America nod to an awards haul that includes D3baseball.com Region Player of the Year, consensus First-Team All-Region laurels, Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Player of the Year, and All-C2C First Team positioning.

Petrucelli, a graduate student from Delran, N.J., is also an All-American twice over this cycle after garnering Third-Team recognition from D3baseball.com. He started all 44 games in right field in his only season at SU, slashing .373/.500/.729 with 51 runs, 18 doubles, one triple, 13 home runs, 51 RBIs, and a 1.229 OPS. Petrucelli slots just one home run behind the single-season program record and also finds himself on the Sea Gull single-season leaderboard in slugging, doubles, and total bases (121).

Petrucelli also made off handsomely during the awards season, earning consensus All-Region First Team accolades and making the All-C2C First Team.

Kell and Petrucelli are now the 24th and 25th ABCA All-Americans in Sea Gull history. Salisbury has placed at least one player on the ABCA All-America teams during six of the last seven years the teams have been proclaimed dating back to 2017. This is the fifth time in program history (1985, 2008, 2009, 2022) that SU can boast multiple ABCA All-Americans.

Salisbury helped ride the Kell-Petrucelli power surge to a 32-12 record and fourth straight NCAA regional title in 2024.
