WINCHESTER, Va. - The No. 2 Salisbury University field hockey program dropped its first game of the 2024 season 1-0 at No. 19 Shenandoah in overtime.
The Sea Gulls (6-1) earned more shots and penalty corners than the Hornets (5-2). Salisbury tallied 17 total shots, putting 10 of those on goal, while Shenandoah only totaled five with four being on goal. The Sea Gulls gained four more penalty corner opportunities as well.
The scoreless game headed into overtime where the Hornets found the back of the goal in the third minute earning the victory.
