SALISBURY, Md. – Outfielder
Andrew Kell of the Salisbury University baseball team will begin the 2025 season as one of NCAA baseball's most talked-about entities, earning a
spot on the D3baseball.com Preseason All-America First Team, as revealed by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
Kell (Sr. – Columbia, Md.) enjoyed a breakout season for the Sea Gulls in 2024, earning Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Player of the Year, Consensus First-Team All-Region, D3baseball.com Region Player of the Year, Consensus Second-Team All-America, and Perfect Game Division III Player of the Year accolades. He also made the All-C2C First Team, earned C2C Player of the Week honors on three occasions, and was picked for the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week twice.
In 41 games (36 starts), Kell slashed .444/.545/.718 with 47 runs, 25 extra-base hits, 48 RBIs, 13 stolen bases, and a 1.263 OPS. Kell ranked 10th in Division III in batting average for the year while posting top-50 national marks in on-base percentage, slugging, and doubles (17); his numbers in all four categories were good enough to make the top 10 in SU single-season history as well.
With Kell setting the tone at the plate, the Sea Gulls enter 2025 in pursuit of a 25th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, fifth straight Regional championship, and fourth straight Super Regional appearance as it seeks to qualify for the Division III World Series for the fourth time in five years.
