SALISBURY, Md. – Four Salisbury University student-athletes reeled in Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Players of the Week recognition with awards from Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) and New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
Women's soccer's
Riley Kinzeler locked down her second C2C Defensive Player of the Week award this year, while a swimming triumvirate of
Brody Hanlon,
Rowan Odonoghue, and
Everett Rachael brought home NJAC hardware.
Riley Kinzeler | C2C Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week | Second Career (Second This Season)
Goalkeeper Kinzeler (So. – Coatesville, Pa.) kept the ball out of the onion bag twice for the Sea Gulls to complete her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season. She made one save in a 1-0 victory at St. Mary's (Md.) on Tuesday, then on Saturday against No. 14 Christopher Newport she posted four saves to help SU draw the Captains, 0-0. Kinzeler's 0.99 goals against average and .797 save percentage rank third and fourth in the C2C, respectively.
Brody Hanlon | NJAC Men's Swimmer of the Week | First Career
Hanlon (So. – Mt. Airy, Md.) won four medals as part of the Sea Gulls' dominant victory over league rival Rowan on Saturday. He won individual golds in the 100 breast (1:05.20) and 200 breast (2:27.44), silver in the 200 IM (2:14.41), and silver as part of the SU C-team in the 200 medley relay (1:45.22).
Rowan Odonoghue | NJAC Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week | Second Career (Second This Season)
Odonoghue (Fr. – Newark, Del.) picked up her second top rookie nod in as many meets after taking three golds in a silver in Saturday's statement victory over NJAC foil Rowan. Odonoghue won individual gold in the 200 free (Maggs Pool-record 2:09.37) and 400 free (4:35.16), solo silver in the 50 free (27.98), and gold as anchor for the 200 free relay team (1:50.91).
Everett Rachael | NJAC Men's Swimming Rookie of the Week | First Career
Rachael (Fr. – Elizabethtown, Pa.) garnered two gold medals and one silver for the Sea Gulls against Rowan, winning both the 100 back (59.59) and 200 back (2:09.82) while finishing second with the SU C-team in the 200 medley relay (1:45.22).
