STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Salisbury University Track & Field program sent select student-athletes to compete at the FastTrack Last Chance meet Saturday afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
The day was highlighted by two broken school records as junior
Mia Hill broke her own school record in the long jump at 5.62 meters (18-5.25), becoming the first woman in program history to long jump over 18 feet indoors.
Kai Smith also broke his own record in the 200-meter with a time of 21.61 seconds.
Meet Notes
- Hill earned 3rd place with her school record in the long jump, which also placed her in the top 25 nationally.
Marlyse Haack and
Emma Christman earned 8th and 9th, respectively. Haack posted a jump of 5.29 meters (17-4.25), while Christman tallied a jump of 5.16 meters (16-11.25).
- Haack and Christman also competed in the triple jump, earning places of 9th and 10th. Haack posted a jump of 10.66 meters (34-11.75) for her 9th-place finish, while Christman earned 10th with a jump of 10.57 meters (34-8.25).

Jadon Gaines tallied a 2nd place finish in the high jump with a jump of 1.94 meters (6-4.50).

Karia Forvil posted a 25.55 200-meter dash which earned 5th place. This was just .4 seconds off the school record.
- Smith took home first place in the 200-meter with his school record time of 21.61, which places him in the top 25 nationally.
The Sea Gulls are set to host the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet on March 8
th at 11 a.m. at the SU Track & Field complex to open up the outdoor season.
Select athletes will compete in the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference meet in Ithaca, N.Y. on March 7
th and 8
th.

Kai Smith in the 200-meter, and the 4x400 men's relay team of
Isaiah Rivera, Hayden Myers, Dominic Roddy, and
Kai Smith.
