MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Salisbury University track and field teams kicked off St. Patrick's Day weekend with solid performances on day one of the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Through one day of the two-day meet, both the Sea Gull women and men sit in fourth place, battling multiple Division I and Division II programs. Day one was highlighted by a program record, podium finishes, and multiple personal records for the Sea Gulls.
Meet Notes
Women
- The Sea Gulls posted a program record in the women's 4x200 relay from the team of Karia Forvil, Lilly Williams, Emma Smyser, and Marlyse Haack with a time of 1:43.17. The team grabbed third place behind Division I teams of UNC-Wilmington and Gardner Webb.
- The day was also highlighted by a first-place finish from Anna Bodmer in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 37:36.28. Madi Sisson grabbed a top-five finish as well, placing 4th with a time of 39:43.09.
- In the 1500-meter run, Marisa Servis placed 4th with a time of 5:11.71, which was good enough for a PR.
- Ava Wagner earned a PR in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:34.08, which was good enough for 8th place.
- Brooke Hamer tallied a PR during the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.79, which places her 12th.
- Hayden Adams tallied a PR in the javelin throw at 31.03 meters (101-09), placing 14th.
- In the long jump, Haack placed 9th at 5.37 meters (17-07.50), while Emma Christman tallied a PR in 11th with a jump of 5.23 meters (17-02.00).
Men
- Cormac Moroney posted a PR in the 1500-meter run, earning 2nd place with a time of 4:10.38.
- The men's 4x200 relay team of Isaiah Rivera, Aaron Dufresne, Hayden Myers, and Mason Cassady earned a 6th place finish with a time of 1:28.49.
- The Sea Gulls placed three runners in the top six of the 10,000-meter run. Sam Bodmer took second place with a PR time of 32:44.04, while Landon Lewicki finished right behind him in third with a PR time of 32:46.08. Garrett Saboy also earned a PR with a time of 33:11.36, which placed him 6th.
- In the hammer throw, Jacob Reeves and Mason Breeze both earned top 10 finishes. Reeves placed 6th at 48.50 meters (159-01), while Breeze posted a throw of 47.08 meters (154-05).
- Reeves also posted a season-best in the javelin throw at 49.95 meters (163-10), which placed him 11th.
Day two of the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge begins at 9 a.m. tomorrow for field events and 10:15 a.m. for track events.
