Oates, Davis represent Men's Basketball on CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Forward Jordan Oates and guard Brendan Davis of the Salisbury University men's basketball team were selected as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Academic All-District selections, announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Oates, a graduate student from Hanover, Md., boasts a 3.83 GPA in the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program after graduating Magna Cum Laude in his studies as a Biomedical Sciences major in the Pre-Dentistry track and a minor in Chemistry. Oates serves as the Treasurer for the Caribbean Student Association and an orientation leader on campus while holding membership in the Chi Alpha Sigma and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies. He garnered back-to-back Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Scholar-Athlete of the Year nods in each of the past two seasons and was named SU's 2023-24 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Oates put a bow on his storied Sea Gull career with his best campaign donning the maroon and gold, averaging career-highs in points (17.6) and rebounds (12.5) per game and leading the C2C in rebounding for the third consecutive season. The post threat claimed numerous spots in the national statistical rankings, finishing second in Division III in double-doubles (21, career-high), fourth in total rebounds (363, career-high), seventh in rebounding average, 27th in blocks (53, career-high) and 44th in blocks per game (1.83, career-high). His defensive development earned C2C Defensive Player of the Year praise.

The Atholton High School product used his stellar season to scale the Sea Gull record books, thoroughly leaving his mark on Sea Gull basketball as the third player in program history behind the legendary Andre Foreman '92 and Howard Shockley '76 to record 1,500 career points and 1,200 career rebounds. He ranks fifth in team history in scoring (1,528) and fourth in rebounds (1,216) while occupying second in offensive rebounds (341) and third all-time in blocks (116).

Davis, a graduate student from Annapolis, Md., touts a 3.60 GPA in the M.B.A. program after graduating Magna Cum Laude in his undergraduate studies. A Dean's list selection every semester at Salisbury, Davis earned his first career Academic All-District nod and first National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court placement last season while also serving as a graduate assistant for the Career Services department at SU.

Davis crafted his best season yet in his final year with Salisbury prior to injury. The primary facilitator of the Sea Gull offense, Davis averaged just shy of 10 points per game and finished second in the C2C in assists (97, career-high) and assists per game (4.6, career-high) while also piling up a career-high 34 steals. He also earned the 2024-25 Jack Ferguson Leadership Award, the highest individual award bestowed upon one member of the SU men's basketball team each season.

Both Oates and Davis joined the team's community efforts at the Hope and Life Outreach (HALO) Shelter in Salisbury while volunteering in other service efforts. Oates nabs his fourth consecutive CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-District nod, while Davis corners his second selection to the academic team.

Academic All-District honorees were considered, and Oates was chosen, for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced on April 15th, 2025.
