SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 2 Salisbury University field hockey program picked up a 3-0 win Saturday afternoon over St. Mary's College of Maryland inside Sea Gull Stadium on Youth Day sponsored by Seaside Smiles.
The Sea Gulls (4-1) tallied 14 shots in the first quarter of action but could not put one into the back of the goal. They also held the Seahawks (4-1) to zero shots for the entire first half.
SU got the scoring started in the second period when
Tessa Gray collected a loose ball in front of the goal and slotted it home. The Gulls took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Salisbury carried that momentum into the third frame, scoring two more goals, both from
Kaitlyn DeModna. Her first goal came from an assist from
Alex Kupper, while her second goal came from a penalty stroke.
The Seahawks did find their lone shot for the game in the third quarter as both teams were held scoreless in the fourth and final quarter of play.
Game Notes
- DeModna posted her eighth career multi-score game and her second against St. Mary's (Md.).
- The Sea Gulls posted 41 shots compared to the one for the Seahawks. 28 of those came on target for SU.
- The Gulls also posted 17 penalty corner chances.
- Salisbury moves to 32-0 all-time against St. Mary's after today.

th, when they battle Stevenson at 6 p.m.
