Stevenson named USA Lacrosse Preseason Defenseman of the Year

SPARKS, Md. - Men's Lacrosse's Bryce Stevenson was dubbed preseason defenseman of the year, as announced by USA Lacrosse Magazine on Wednesday morning.

Stevenson, a senior close defender from Severna Park, Md., eclipsed career-highs in the 2025 season by vacuuming 69 ground balls, causing 38 turnovers and depositing four goals in his junior campaign as a key piece in the Salisbury defense that ranked fifth in scoring defense (7.67).

The 6-5 defender tucked three of his goals against ranked opponents, including a tally in the Coastal Lacrosse Conference championship bout with Christopher Newport, to help secure the Maroon and Gold's 27th conference championship in program history.

The Sea Gulls start the 2026 slate on Saturday against Eastern in St. David's, Pa., at 1 p.m.
