CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The 17th-ranked Salisbury University men's swimming team captured its third straight dual meet to wind down the regular season, sinking the Washington College Shoremen 187-74 on Friday night at the Eugene B. Casey Swim Center.
MEET NOTES
- Everett Rachael saw gold in all three of his events, securing solo titles in the 500-yard freestyle (4:49.60) and 200 individual medley (1:59.85).
- Kyle Skelly went for three different medals on the day, winning gold in the 50 free (22.22), silver in the 100 IM (53.67), and bronze in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.18).
- Lucas Mitchell touched first in the 100 backstroke (53.81) and took second in the 50 back (24.90).
- Aidan Loehr matched Skelly with a gold, silver, and bronze, taking solo first in the 100 breast (58.19) and third in the 100 IM (53.70).
- Michael DeSimone took home two golds and a silver, including a solo winner in the 50 back (24.89).
- The Sea Gulls placed 1-2 in the meet-opening 200 medley relay. In first place at 1:32.17 were Mason Potts, Dominic Kazzi, Michael Paulos, and DeSimone; in second (1:35.88), Nick Corcoran, Loehr, Cameron Byrd, and Owen Brewer.
- SU also took the top two slots in the meet-closing 400 free relay. Byrd, Rachael, Brewer, and Potts touched up first in 3:10.74. Matt Merke, David Gardner, DeSimone, and Gabe Erb rolled in second at 3:15.30.
- Salisbury managed 29 medals on the day, rolling out with 11 gold, 12 silver, and six bronze.
WAC POOL RECORDS
Sporting a 6-2 dual meet record on the regular season, the Sea Gulls now eye league glory at the 2026 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Swimming & Diving Championships, which will run from Feb. 12-15 at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va. Salisbury is coming off a third-place finish at the 2025 NJAC Championships, landing within single-digit points of second.
