LITITZ, Pa. – The Salisbury University men's golf team endured another afternoon of elements as it sits middle-of-the-pack following round one of the Franklin & Marshall Spring Invitational on Sunday at Bent Creek Country Club.
The Sea Gulls carded a 41-over 325 for the day, good for 10th in a deep field of 15 teams. SU lines up within three strokes of the seventh-place F&M C-team (322) and even closer to eighth-place Lancaster Bible (323) and ninth-place Lebanon Valley (324), while 11th-place Muhlenberg and Chestnut Hill (328) both sit well back.
ROUND NOTES
- Cameron Nicholson tied for 22nd in the field of 78 after the opening round with a seven-over 78. Nicholson shot par on his first six holes and was just two over on the back nine with seven pars.
- Ryan Henneman carded an eight-over 79 with a birdie on seven, good for a tie for 28th.
- Colton Thomas shot an 11-over 82 with a trio of birdies on four, 14, and 18. He stands tied for 39th halfway through.
- Evan Oglesby tied for 55th with a 15-over 86, while Parker Pruitt recorded the SU drop score with an 18-over 89 that landed him in a tie for 64th.
The Sea Gulls will gear up for their final 18 holes of the spring season at the second and final round of the F&M Invitational on Monday, with a shotgun start slated for 12 p.m.
