Men’s Golf secures third at MMU Bernie Shootout

POTOMAC, Md. – The Salisbury University men's golf team secured its third straight podium finish by slotting third at the Marymount (Va.) Bernie Shootout on Monday at TPC Potomac at Avanel Farm.
 
The Sea Gulls placed third out of eight teams with a 47-over 327 on the day, edging out Shenandoah (328) for the bronze and finishing 10 strokes back of Hood (317) for second. It marks the fifth straight tournament SU has placed in the top three on the team leaderboard dating back to October.
 
ROUND NOTES
  • Ryan Henneman tied for third in the field of 40 individuals, shooting a six-over 76 for the round with a trio of birdies.
  • Colton Thomas carded an 11-over 81 with a birdie on par-five 10, tying for 10th.
  • Gage Bandy tied for 15th with a 13-over 83 on the day, highlighted by a six-hole par streak from nine through 14.
  • Parker Pruitt and Peter Carnegie each shot a 17-over 87, tying for 21st with each other and three others.
 
The Sea Gulls will now return home to host the inaugural Sea Gull Invitational at Green Hill Country Club in Quantico. Tee time for SU on Saturday is 8:40 a.m., followed by a shotgun start on Sunday at 9 a.m.
