Wivell christened top Scholar-Athlete; Brosius, Lynott make All-CWGC teams

Three Sea Gulls honored with inaugural conference postseason awards

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's golf team saw three of its top players honored on the inaugural Colonial Women's Golf Conference (CWGC) postseason teams, as revealed by the league office on Friday morning. Emma Wivell took home CWGC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, while Krista Brosius and Sydney Lynott received All-CWGC Second Team and Honorable Mention nods, respectively.

Wivell (Sr. – Rocky Ridge, Md.) was one of just three graduating student-athletes across all Sea Gull sports to post a perfect 4.00 grade-point average, achieving it as an International Business major with minors in Spanish and Entrepreneurship. Away from the links, she was an active member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, served as a student business leader, and at one point took home first prize in the Mid-Atlantic Sales & Marketing Institute (MASMI) Sales Championship.

A founding member of the SU women's golf program, Wivell played in 16 rounds across 10 events in 2025-26, averaging 92.1 strokes per round – good for third on the team – and recording a pair of top-10 individual finishes.

Brosius (Fr. – Magnolia, Del.) emerged as Salisbury's first true star in her rookie campaign, averaging an 82.9 over 18 rounds across all 11 events with two individual first-place finishes, five top-fives, and nine top-10s while winning CWGC Golfer of the Week twice. Brosius won both of her solo titles in the span of a week and a half in April, placing tops in the Elizabethtown Spring Invitational on Apr. 2 and capturing the Sea Gull Invitational crown on Apr. 11-12.

Lynott (Fr. – Columbia, Md.) was not to be outdone during her own promising first season as a Gull, finishing second on the team behind Brosius at a 88.2-stroke average. She played every round of every tournament and boasted three top-five and five top-10 finishes, placing as high as third at the Sea Gull Invitational.

With Wivell, Brosius, and Lynott at the top of the scorecard, the Salisbury showed major improvement in its second year as a program in 2025-26, finishing in the top half in nine of 11 tournaments with two team championships at the E'Town and Sea Gull Invitationals.
