CARLISLE, Pa. – The Salisbury University men's golf team showed a dozen-stroke round-by-round improvement, registering a strong close to finish in the top half of the season-opening Dickinson Fall Invitational on Monday at Carlisle Barracks Golf Club.
The Sea Gulls shot a three-over 291 across the second of two rounds for the weekend, good for its third-best round since the program's revival in 2024. The mark was 12 strokes lower than the team's first-round 303 and gave SU an 18-over 594 across the two rounds, also third-best in modern program history. The Gulls ultimately landed 13th out of 26 teams at the event, one stroke behind Goucher (593) for 12th and seven better than the Dickinson B-side (601) in 14th.
ROUND NOTES
- Gage Bandy shaved off 10 strokes from Sunday to Monday, carding a two-under 70 with five birdies and three bogeys. Bandy, who sank three of his birdies on a four-hole stretch between the sixth and ninth holes, capped the weekend at a six-over 150, good for a 54th-place tie in the 138-man field.
- Ryan Henneman posted a one-over 73, just one off his Sunday total, with four birdies on the day. He finished in a tie for 22nd individually with a one-over 145.
- Parker Pruitt matched Henneman for the second straight round, chipping in a one-over 73 with three birdies and leaving the course with his own one-over 145 for a 22nd-place tie.
- Jack Laur knocked five strokes off his card from round-to-round with a three-over 75, tying for 82nd on the individual leaderboard.
- Vincent Diglio posted the SU drop score with a seven-over 79 and finished tied for 105th.
The Sea Gulls will return to action at the end of the month at the exclusive DIII Northeast Elite Tournament, set to be held on Sept. 27-28 at the Williamsport Country Club in Pennsylvania.
